Tasman - Lewis Pass- Takaka - Dynes tanker run

The run from Christchurch to Takaka crosses some remarkable country, follows rivers, native forest and strides through the big burnt country that Canterbury is famous for in summer.

The Takaka Hill is a stiff climb and since the massive washouts of 2018 a driver gets to spend a lot of time waiting for the lights. The weather can get violent quickly up in the Tasman, and there is only one way in and out.
