The site explained.
What you are viewing are the ‘proxies’ (small manageable copies of master files) of much of the raw footage shot for a variety of end uses regarding the New Zealand road transport industry, as a resource to promote, market, archive and protect this material for the ages.
Each clip has a unique code or number in the top left hand corner.
Use this as a reference to any inquiry about any clip.
These clips are ‘dumbed down’ from the original footage, which generally was shot in 4K, 50fps and a shutter speed of 1/150 resulting in huge files of high quality.
The displayed clips are either 1080 x 1920 at 25p or 3840×2160 25p and some may not have audio attached for a variety of production related reasons.
Search words or ‘tags’ are being attached as time allows, but at present the entire site is not fully searchable.
The top search-box will offer up pages, while the search box on a video gallery will only search within that particular gallery for a code or key word.
This site is safe-guarding and archiving what remains of the visual history of the road transport and related industries.
Much has been lost.
This site is a starting point to save what we can regarding our industry.
