The great experiment.

Southland is one of the most productive rural regions in the world, but requires a lot of superphosphate and lime to be so.

Enter Fred Andrews. He put both an MAN and Mercedes 8×8 spreaders to work, fitted them with duals up front, and triples on the rear and set them loose.

The economics weren’t there, but what a glorious experiment it was.

Southland can get wet, and Fred Andrews of Riversdale had that in mind when he experimented with 8x8 MAN and Mercedes spreaders in the 1980s.
