Legacy - The advent of 50 MAX

A lot of spade-work went in to increasing the on-road payload capabilities of the New Zealand road transport fleet, and that  started with deregulation in the 1980’s.

However,  it took a few more decades of work before  50 MAX was established in 2013.

 H-stickered, nine-axle 50-tonne-plus combinations are  common on New Zealand roads these days, but the fight to get them established was a long and frustrating one.
