Nissan Diesel – Transpac semi - 'Beautiful Lady'

Nissan Diesel tractor working under a reefer-semi for Transpac in the mid-eighties out of Invercargill. Nissan's had a huge presence in Southland and Otago thanks to the efforts of Melhops and CVC who had a good product and knew how to sell it.

ML6032 was quite a sight replete with alloy bull-bars, aero-dam, and tri-axle self-steer ‘Freight Liner’ semi-trailer,

The Nissan Diesel worked under Transpac colours and hauled chilled product up and down the South Island in the eighties.

Thanks to Melhops of Invercargill who established the Nissan Diesel brand in New Zealand then CVC who were the powerhouse behind the brand in later days, Southland had the largest workforce of the brand in their region, and they were a sought-out drive in the day when comfort was in short supply.
