Kaikoura - Hundalees - Opzeeland Scania

South of the Kaikoura coast, on the Hundalee Hills, was also an area that was badly damaged during the earthquakes mid-November 2016.

This disrupted the road freight network, and destroyed the rail network for several years.

Once a path was pushed through for road traffic, driving this route became a game of stop-start with sometimes dozens of road repairs and reconstruction zones all working simultaneously.

Opzeeland and their Scania long-haul fleet were regulars on this route.
