ATL (Alexandra Transport Ltd) Sterling 2009 on the Lindis Pass

Sterling Lindis

Shot mid-May 2009 for NZ Trucking Magazine, was ATL’s stunning Sterling, which was one of the last to be put on the road before the ‘Ford’ was pulled from the marketplace.

Seen here travelling from Cromwell, over the Deadman Point bridge, over the Lindis Pass and through the Mckenzie basin to Fairlie, the tractor and B-train cut an impressive sight.

These are low-rez images, but high quality prints can be obtained.

Some of the images shot over the Lindis Pass are particularily inspiring and anybody who has driven this demanding route has been rewarded by spectacular scenery, lightshows and changeable conditions – you never know what you are going to get.

Truckarchive plans to do a short documentary on the evolution of this truck which went through a number of designations before the Ford became a Sterling.

Also – watch out for a video about the Lindis Pass and its many moods.
